William P. Wall

Chairman of the Board

Bill Wall has more than 30 years of experience as an investor, special situations expert, and board member. He is the Managing Member of Plantingfield Opportunity Partners, LLC. He serves as Chairman of the Board of United FP, LLC, a franchisee operator of 195 Planet Fitness clubs, is a member of the Board of Directors of Jonah Energy, LLC, a private upstream oil and gas operator, and is a board observer for Acrisure, LLC, an insurance brokerage. Bill was a managing director at Fidelity Investments in the High Income and Alternatives division from 2020 to July 2026, responsible for restructurings and workouts, and was a portfolio manager for Fidelity Credit Opportunities Fund II, L.P., which invests in stressed and distressed credits. Bill initially joined Fidelity in 1996, serving as Associate General Counsel for the High Income division and subsequently heading up the bank loan group and a private equity team, before departing to start up a hedge fund in 2003. Prior to rejoining Fidelity, Bill was a partner at OQ Partners, responsible for investing in small private startups. He also served from 2006 to 2015 as general counsel at Abrams Capital, a value-oriented investment firm focused on public and private investments. Previously, he was a founding partner at a hedge fund, Andover Capital. He also worked as an associate at Ropes & Gray, providing legal advice on private equity and corporate finance deals.

 
Bill has substantial experience as a director, serving over time on three public company boards and numerous private companies. He has been chairman of the board and has chaired audit, compensation, and corporate governance committees of companies in various industries, including natural gas, specialty steel, medical devices, building products, financial services, fitness, and automotive retailing. Bill earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Massachusetts, his Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School, and his Master’s in Public Administration from the Kennedy School of Government.
